Hi everyone, just got back from a camping trip at Kettle Moraine State Forest. We camped with five other families. The first day, while we were checking in, there happened to be some hummingbird feeders on the side of the check in place. I was real lucky to get up to the window about five feet from the feeder which allowed me to get great looks at the RUBY THROATED HUMMINGIRDS. Then, we made it to our campsite and it was about 5:00. On our trip, each family was in charge of a meal. Our meal was tonight, where my dad cooked burgers on the grill. We all made it to bed very late where I briefly heard several times what I thought was a BARRED OWL. Wish I saw that one. The next morning i went birding around the campsite, where the trees were so tall it was hard to identify any birds in the canopy.
