Life Bird 400!

Hi everyone, after Cambodia we arrived at our villa located in Lovina, Bali. We spent most of our time relaxing (which is what everyone comes to Bali for) swimming, schooling and complaining about the house's sketchy internet. Oh, we miss that American internet. Anyway, we did have a backyard, and I spent  some time birding there. My first lifer was a JAVAN POND HERON, seen in a rice field along the side of the road. The second backyard lifer was this CHESTNUT HEADED BEE EATER, which was my favorite species seen in the backyard.

My third lifer was a WHITE SHOULDERED TRILLER and my fourth was this ORIENTAL HONEY BUZZARD which if I had to guess is probably the rarest backyard lifer.

My other lifer was a SCARLET HEADED FLOWERPECKER, a bright red and black bird, and life bird 400! Of course I saw some birds in the backyard that were not lifers such as this OLIVE BACKED SUNBIRD, a super common species found in the area.

These SPOTTED DOVES were also seen.

Also these YELLOW VENTED BULBULS.

This short post is mainly to let you know that I hit 400 life birds. We did nothing, but relax here so there is not much more for me to say. But don't worry this isn't it for Bali because my family and I spent one more week in Jimbaran Bay all the way in southern Bali, and I just did a fantastic birding excursion there and got many, many photos, which should make up for today's short post.
